An American-born child of the sixties, Gxaoui grew up in the
Midwest and East Coast, learning to make friends and navigate different
cultural experiences. Time spent on his grandfatherís farm
gave him practical knowledge of repair and fabrication with what was on
hand. His father (a Dr. of Electrical Engineering) taught him
about electronics and computers from an early age, and his mother
encouraged artistic pursuits, music, theater, and craft. He's
mastered a range of skills: sound engineering, CADCAM, EMT, database
programming. He's worked in many different fields: Sous chef,
warehouse manager, program supervisor and fabricator. As an outsider artist, he has learned from life experience and close association with other artists in many mediums. |
